Apply for licensing from FMA by 30 August
The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) has advised that entities requiring licensing under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMCA) should submit their applications before 30 August.
The licensing process can take up to 12 weeks and issuers and managers need to allow time for this to ensure they can meet the 30 November end of transition deadline to register schemes and offers on the Companies Office Disclose Register. The sooner businesses start the licensing process, the more chance they’ll have of meeting the 30 November deadline. The licensing guidelines can be found on the FMA website.
FMA advise that most entities have completed licensing and the vast majority of the industry is on track to transition to the FMCA.
