FMA levies are changing from 1 July 2021

New Financial Markets Authority (FMA) levies come into force on 1 July 2021

The levy for filing financial statements on some of our small registers is increasing from 1 July, and this will affect the total fee you’ll need to pay when you file with us.

The total fee will rise from $235.00 (plus GST) to $240.22 (plus GST).

Registers affected:

The change is part of the government’s plan to increase the FMA’s budget to help it fulfil its responsibilities as the financial markets regulator. Levies will increase progressively over a 3-year period between 2020 and 2022. This year’s increase is the second round of FMA levy changes.

Further information about the levy changes can be found on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) website.

If you are due to file your financial statements in June, make sure you file before 1 July to avoid paying the higher levy.

Levy changes for our other registers

On 1 July 2021 there will also be FMA levy increases affecting transactions on a number of our other registers. Read our related news items for the:
