FMA levies are changing from 1 July 2022

New Financial Markets Authority (FMA) levies come into force on 1 July 2022

The FMA levies on some of our smaller registers are increasing from 1 July, and this will affect the total fees you’ll need to pay on the following registers:

  • Friendly societies
  • Credit unions
  • Building societies

All fees are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and exclude GST.

If you are due to file your financial statements and annual return in June, make sure you file before 1 July to avoid paying the higher levies.

The change is part of the Government’s plan to increase the FMA’s budget to help it fulfil its responsibilities as the financial markets’ regulator.
