The new home of limited partnerships is Business Registers, www.businessregisters.govt.nz.
These changes will make it easier for you to meet your legal obligations and to find the business information you need.
Some important things to know about the new system
All limited partnerships registered on the old system, and the details held for them, have now been moved onto the new system, and can be accessed directly by visiting www.businessregisters.govt.nz.
You can search for limited partnerships on the Business Registers using our standard or advanced search options. The Business Registers also now offer ‘role search’ for limited partnerships registers. For more information, read our guide on searching the Limited Partnerships (NZ) Register.
Every business managing limited partnerships must have a RealMe account and an organisation account set up with the Business Registers. They also need to have authority to allow their users to manage the limited partnerships. Refer to our guides on setting up your online services account and requesting authority to manage information for more information. Once an organisation has been granted authority, the account administrator can permit others within their business to access and update the limited partnerships’ information.
When you log in to the Business Registers, you'll be taken to the easy-to-use online dashboard, which displays all your limited partnerships and other important information at a glance. Refer to our guide on using the online dashboard to find out more. You can now register, manage and file annual returns for your limited partnerships online, as well as paying for our services.
