Review of the Retirement Villages Act is under way
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), working in partnership with the retirement sector, has begun a review of the Retirement Villages Act 2003.
It’s been almost 20 years since the Retirement Villages Act 2003 (the Act) was introduced. According to HUD, at a high level, the review is set to consider whether the current Act remains fit for purpose.
HUD will be producing a discussion document (expected in the later part of 2023). We will provide more information once that is released for public consultation, including how you can have your say.
