Changing a retirement village address

Keeping contact details and official addresses up to date

Retirement village operators must let us know if the contact details, registered office address or address for service of a retirement village changes.

Updating your contact details

You can update your retirement village’s phone number, postal address or email address online.

Updating your official addresses

If you are the operator of a retirement village you need to notify us of any change to the retirement village’s registered office address or address for service by:

  • Completing a change of village's address form (Form RV6), and
  • Uploading the change of address online.

In each case, the date of change must be at least 5 working days after the form is uploaded.

File formats for uploading documents

Any forms you upload must be:

  • clear and easily read
  • saved in PDF format, and
  • no larger than 20MB.

How to change an address or contact details online

You will need:

  • a RealMe® login, and
  • confirmed authority with us to update the register for this retirement village.

If it is your first time updating details for a retirement village, you will be prompted for information to set up an online account with us.

Step by step

For a registered office address or address for service

  1. Log in using your RealMe login.
  2. Select 'Authorities' from the menu.
  3. Choose your retirement village from the list.
  4. Select ‘Create Filing Service’.
  5. Choose ‘Change of Address’ (for the type of service).
  6. Upload the completed change of address form.
  7. Submit your change.
Update a retirement village

We will email you confirming that your change has been submitted. We will then review your change of addresses and contact you if we have any questions or need any further information. We aim to complete our review within 10 working days.

If we register your change, we will confirm that by email.  If we reject your change, we will email you and outline the reasons why.

You can check the status of your change by logging into the Retirement Villages Register. Choose the ‘Filing Services’ option to view any changes that are in progress. If your change status shows as ‘Draft’ you can edit or discard it by choosing the drop-down arrow alongside the filing service. 

Check the status of an update

For a postal or email address

  1. Log in using your RealMe login.
  2. Select 'Authorities' from the menu.
  3. Choose your retirement village from the list.
  4. Select ‘Edit Entity’.
  5. Update the contact details that have changed.
  6. Submit your change.

The register will be updated immediately with the changes you have submitted.
