Retirement Villages Register moving to a new platform
Important upcoming changes to how you access and use the register
In this update
As part of a broader technology upgrade project, the Retirement Villages Register will be moving from the current portal to a new improved platform. With this change we are aiming at improving your experience.
What is changing
Self-service updates
You will have the ability to make some changes to your records online, such as updating your email or postal address.
Online applications
You will be able to search and submit applications online, with payments processed at the same time — everything in one place.
Contact details publicly viewable on forms
Contact details provided on the annual return form and other forms used when applying for and maintaining your registration will be publicly viewable. This will include the email address and telephone number for the village and operator.
What you can do to get ready
Check you have a RealMe® login
To access the new platform, you will need to have a RealMe login. RealMe is designed to protect your privacy and is a service used by many New Zealand businesses and government departments.
If you have a RealMe login that you have used elsewhere (for example, to renew your passport or to access other Companies Office services) you can use that here too.
If you do not yet have a RealMe login, visit the RealMe website to create one.
Check your contact details are up to date
We recently sent emails about this change to retirement villages using the addresses we held on record. If you have not received an email from us, please contact us at retirementvillages@companies.govt.nz to confirm your current contact details.
We will stay in touch
We will be sending more information soon and will work closely with you to support this change.
We are excited about the improvements and appreciate your cooperation as we make this upgrade.
